DAVOS, SWITZERLAND — President Trump reassured the public Thursday that the alarming appearance of his right hand, which many observers described as “visually incompatible with organic life”, was merely the result of a cosmetic medical coating applied to address what he called “a very small, extremely weak injury.”
“This is not rot, this is treatment,” Trump told reporters, holding up his hand for several seconds longer than necessary. “People see the flesh and they panic. Very weak people. But it’s actually a coating. Like a bandage. A very advanced, organic bandage that just happens to look like it’s actively consuming the body.”
According to White House officials, the president sustained the injury during what aides described as “an aggressively successful handshake marathon” with donors, supporters, and at least one coffee table. Physicians reportedly recommended a topical solution involving “layers of restorative biological material,” which insiders later clarified was, in fact, rotting flesh.
“The key word here is appliqué,” said a senior administration official, stressing that the flesh was not attached permanently and could be removed “once it finishes doing whatever it’s doing.” The official added that the treatment was “very common, very normal, and definitely real.”
Trump himself insisted the treatment was evidence of cutting-edge medicine. “A lot of presidents use ointments. Some use creams. I use flesh,” he said. “It’s stronger. It has history. People don’t know this, but flesh has been healing things for thousands of years.”
Medical experts outside the administration expressed concern, noting that while topical treatments are common, “actively decomposing tissue” is not typically part of modern wound care. The White House dismissed those criticisms as partisan attacks from what it called “anti-flesh doctors.”
“This is being blown way out of proportion,” said Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt in a background briefing. “If anything, the hand is healthier now. It’s insulated. Protected. Honestly, it’s probably the most protected hand in the country.”
