WASHINGTON, DC — Federal investigators confirmed Tuesday that Kash Patel spent several weeks aggressively lobbying for updated FBI tactical gear to include “standard-issue beer helmets capable of holding at least two domestic lagers during active operations.”
According to multiple bureau sources, Patel became visibly irritated during a procurement meeting after discovering the FBI’s current ballistic helmets contained “virtually zero beverage holding functionality.”
“He just kept slapping the side of the helmet asking where the straws were,” said one exhausted defense contractor. “At one point he asked if agents were expected to conduct raids completely sober.”
The proposal, reportedly titled Operation Chug Chug, included optional camouflage koozies, hydration tubes rerouted from Bud Light cans, and a recommendation that flashbang grenades be renamed “party starters” for morale purposes.
Sources say Patel’s obsession with integrating alcohol into federal law enforcement had become impossible to ignore in recent months. Staffers allegedly grew accustomed to 10 a.m. conference calls interrupted by the sound of cans cracking open, as well as rambling speeches about how “real Americans conduct surveillance with a slight buzz.”
“He once demanded the FBI academy replace physical endurance drills with a three-day casino binge to test ‘mental toughness,’” said one official. “Honestly, the beer helmets were somehow not even the weirdest part.”
Internal emails show Patel also explored installing margarita dispensers inside tactical vans and briefly floated replacing bureau-issued hydration packs with what he called “emergency road cocktails.”
Though the proposal was ultimately rejected, insiders say Patel remained furious that the FBI continued prioritizing “elitist sober culture.”
“Washington has forgotten the working-class patriot who wants to rappel through a window while double-fisting a Miller Lite,” Patel reportedly told colleagues before leaving the meeting 45 minutes early for “happy hour reconnaissance.”
