NEW YORK, NY — In a carefully lit press conference held beneath a newly installed red, white, and noticeably redder backdrop, CNN executives this week announced the network’s official rebrand to “Conservative News Network,” stressing repeatedly that the decision has “absolutely nothing to do with the Trump-aligned Paramount takeover of any kind, in any universe, real or imagined.”
“This is purely organic,” explained the network’s freshly appointed Chief Vision Alignment Officer, standing in front of a graphic that read ‘Truth, Balanced, and Nothing About Epstein.’ “We simply listened to our viewers, our board, our advertisers, our focus groups, our donors, and several extremely persuasive hedge fund managers.”
The executive went on to clarify that the rebrand reflects CNN’s commitment to “balanced patriotism,” a new editorial standard in which every segment must include at least one founding father, two references to murderous immigrants, and a chyron asking whether regulation has “gone too far.”
Critics have noted that since the rebrand, the network has quietly retired terms such as “climate crisis,” “corporate consolidation,” and “accountability,” replacing them with “weather enthusiasm,” “business synergy,” and “trickle down something.” A new prime-time lineup promises hard-hitting debates like Main Street Patriot Spotlight, The Cancel Culture Report, and Inflation: Is It Just a State of Mind?
Executives dismissed concerns about ownership influence, pointing out that the new majority stakeholder merely “cares deeply about journalistic integrity, tax efficiency, and lower inheritance taxes.” They emphasized that newsroom decisions remain fully independent, aside from routine consultations with the Strategic Alignment Council, the Freedom Advisory Board, and a gentleman referred to only as “Sir.”
To underscore its neutrality, the network unveiled a refreshed logo featuring a majestic bald eagle clutching a microphone and what appears to be a deregulation memo.
“Look,” Paramount CEO David Ellison concluded, “we won’t change CNN. We’ve evolving it. Slightly rightward. But completely coincidentally.”
