Chugging Energy Drinks, Hegseth Warns Iran It’s About to Learn Why America Doesn’t Skip Leg Day

WASHINGTON, DC — Cracking open what aides later confirmed was his eighth neon-colored energy drink of the morning, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth assured reporters Tuesday that Iranian leadership was about to receive what he described as “a very educational demonstration in why America doesn’t skip leg day.”

Standing at the Pentagon podium and briefly pausing to wipe powdered caffeine off his suit sleeve, Hegseth explained that the United States military was fully prepared to “absolutely squat the entire Iranian regime into the floor,” adding that the campaign would combine “precision strikes, overwhelming force, and the kind of intensity you normally only see at a 24-hour gym at 2 a.m.”

The remarks come as U.S. operations against Iran continue to escalate, with Hegseth previously promising the most intense day of strikes yet and insisting the United States is “overwhelmingly winning” the conflict.

According to witnesses at the briefing, the secretary repeatedly emphasized that America’s strategy relied on “strength, discipline, and the unshakeable confidence that comes from crushing a protein shake before a workout.”

“This isn’t complicated,” Hegseth said, gesturing at a large map of the Middle East, peppered with ‘BOOM’ graphics, while aggressively shaking his energy drink. “You spend decades hitting the gym of freedom, building those quads of liberty, and eventually somebody like Iran shows up thinking it can skip warm-ups and challenge you. That’s when you demonstrate proper form.”

Pentagon officials later clarified that the “leg day doctrine,” as some staffers have begun calling it, does not appear in any formal military planning documents, though one aide acknowledged it has been “a helpful metaphor during particularly intense briefings.”

“He’s spent a lot more time in the gym than in actual combat,” said one aide, “So in that sense, the metaphor is quite useful.”
