WASHINGTON, DC — Calling it “a beautiful tribute to the forgotten heroes of January 6th,” President Trump on Monday unveiled a new limited-edition commemorative coin featuring one of the Capitol rioters best known for defecating on an American flag during the attack.
The coin, officially titled the True Patriot Freedom Eagle Liberty Coin, depicts the unnamed rioter crouched beside a smeared Stars and Stripes while giving a thumbs up beneath the words “Never Surrender.” Trump introduced the collectible during a televised ceremony at Mar-a-Lago, where supporters applauded as a velvet curtain was lifted to reveal the design enlarged to roughly the size of a tractor tire.
The commemorative coin announcement comes just days after reports that Trump’s DOJ is negotiating a massive taxpayer-funded “Anti-Weaponization Fund” tied to the dismissal of his $10 billion IRS lawsuit. The proposed $1.8 billion fund would reportedly compensate Trump allies claiming they were unfairly targeted by the government, including January 6th rioters, leading critics to describe it as a federally backed MAGA slush fund.
“These people were treated very unfairly,” Trump said. “This man loved America so much he expressed himself very passionately. Frankly, I’ve seen much worse from Dumocrats.”
According to the White House gift shop website, the coin is plated in “patriot-grade gold coloring,” costs $299.99, and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Trump and will go directly to his family business. Buyers who purchase three coins will also receive a free “January 6th Freedom Garden” commemorative steak knife set.
Administration officials defended the decision after critics pointed out that the featured individual was photographed actively desecrating the American flag while screaming obscenities at police officers.
“You’re focusing on one isolated bowel movement,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. “The broader message here is patriotism, entrepreneurship, and healing.”
Sources confirmed the U.S. Mint initially rejected the design before being overruled by Trump appointees who argued the image “perfectly captures the MAGA movement’s values.”
At press time, Trump was reportedly considering a second commemorative coin honoring the man photographed stealing Nancy Pelosi’s podium, calling him “one of our great interior decorators.”
