NBA Announces Knicks Games Will Now Carry Graphic Content Warnings

NEW YORK, NY — The NBA announced Monday that the remainder of New York Knicks playoff broadcasts will begin with a brief graphic content warning advising viewers of “intense scenes of physical domination, emotional trauma, and repeated humiliation of opposing teams.”

The warning, which will reportedly appear immediately after the national anthem, comes after the Knicks have spent the 2026 playoffs turning opposing franchises into what league officials described as “unrecognizable debris fields.”

“This postseason has crossed a line,” Commissioner Adam Silver said during a hastily arranged press conference. “At a certain point this stops being competitive basketball and starts becoming something audiences should mentally prepare themselves for.”

The decision follows the Knicks’ historic seven-game playoff winning streak in which they reportedly won by an average margin of 25 points, including a 51-point annihilation of Atlanta and a 144-114 closeout against Philadelphia that witnesses described as “needlessly cruel.”

Several networks have already begun experimenting with additional safeguards, including blurring scoreboards once deficits exceed 35 points and replacing live footage of opposing benches with calming nature scenes.

ESPN also confirmed that future Knicks broadcasts may carry the same TV-MA rating typically reserved for prestige crime dramas and documentaries about cult leaders.

“We just watched Philadelphia slowly realize over four games that none of their efforts mattered,” one ABC producer said. “At one point we had to cut away from Joel Embiid staring blankly into space because standards and practices felt it was too upsetting for younger viewers.”

League insiders say concern escalated after New York tied the NBA playoff record with 25 three-pointers during its sweep of the 76ers, while Madison Square Garden crowds reportedly reached “medieval execution energy levels.”

Despite criticism, Knicks players appeared confused by the controversy.

“We’re just playing basketball,” said Jalen Brunson after another 30-point dismantling. “If teams don’t want this happening to them, they could theoretically try guarding us.”

At press time, the NBA was considering placing a small “viewer discretion advised” logo permanently in the corner of all Knicks playoff broadcasts.
