Americans Gather to Celebrate January 6th Holiday with Festive Window Smashing, Screaming at Paintings, and Annual Beating of Law Enforcement Officers with a Flag Pole

WASHINGTON, DC — Americans across the nation gathered this week to joyfully observe the January 6th holiday, a beloved civic tradition marked by festive window smashing, incoherent screaming at historical artwork, and the annual ceremonial beating of law enforcement officers with whatever patriotic object happens to be within reach.

The celebration began early in the morning, as revelers donned their finest tactical khakis and novelty flag capes before traveling to government buildings they insist they “love deeply” and “respect more than anyone.” By midday, participants could be seen hurling themselves through shattered windows in a show of physical fitness and constitutional scholarship, while others paused to yell at oil paintings of long-dead statesmen for “not doing enough” to stop an election they lost.

“It’s about honoring our traditions,” explained one attendee while attempting to pry a commemorative plaque off the wall. “Our founders absolutely wanted this. You can tell by how calm and rational they look in these portraits, which I am now screaming directly into.”

A highlight of the day was the annual Flag Pole Beating of Law Enforcement Officers, a time-honored ritual symbolizing respect for authority, provided that authority is actively being assaulted. Participants stressed that the beating is purely symbolic and only looks violent because of the concussions, broken bones, and blood.

Police officers in attendance confirmed the holiday spirit was unmistakable. “You can really feel the love of country when someone hits you in the head with a metal pole and calls you a traitor,” said one officer, who asked not to be named because he was still being screamed at.

Inside the Capitol, celebrants roamed freely, taking selfies, stealing memorabilia, and loudly insisting they were tourists despite ignoring all posted signs and laws. Several groups were seen praying for the nation while actively vandalizing it, a tradition experts describe as “uniquely American.”

Organizers emphasized that the holiday is not political, noting that it is simply a nonpartisan expression of rage, delusion, and misplaced confidence. “This isn’t about overthrowing democracy,” said one man while zip-tying a door. “It’s about patriotism.”

As the day concluded, participants dispersed peacefully, satisfied that they had once again honored freedom by attacking it directly. Plans are already underway for next year’s celebration, with organizers promising even bigger crowds, louder yelling, and an expanded arts-and-crafts station for homemade conspiracy theories.
