At a recent White House meeting between US military leaders and their spouses, President Trump sparked widespread speculation when he said, “The calm before the storm,” before a group photo was taken. Political leaders and press outlets scrambled to decode the meaning behind the ominous phrase as Trump failed to elaborate. He instead seemed confused that the phase could illicit any follow up questions.
On Fox & Friends this morning, Trump admitted that he did not know what ‘calm’ or ‘storm’ meant. “Look, I thought it was something people say after a picture is taken, but John [Kelly] told me it means something different before we took it.” Trump continued, “Why are we always focusing on the negative? Let’s talk about the fact that I know what ‘before’ means.”
Trump’s words led many to believe he was going to start a war or begin grabbing military spouse pussy as yesterday marked the one year anniversary of his now forgiven, “grab them by the pussy,” comments.
When asked if he now knew what they meant, Trump replied, “No one knows more about storm than I do. I practically invented storm. You know we have storm in New York?”
Kelly has been frustrated by Trump’s unwillingness to stay on script during public speeches, and is believed to begin scripting any social event where cameras are present.
